From Vision to Action: Plug In and Power Change

We believe that meaningful change happens when our collective energy meets a common goal. While advocacy begins with a vote, it is sustained through the hands-on work of local organizations dedicated to progress, equity, and justice. This is where our values take flight.

This page is a curated resource for you to find your "village." Whether you have an hour a month or a day a week, these interest groups are the heartbeat of our local movement. We invite you to explore their missions, find what resonates with your drive for change, and reclaim your power through service. When we show up for one another, we move our community forward.

Far Northwest Democrats

Far Northwest Democrats is a democratic club working to foster an active, informed, and growing community of Democratic voters in the Northwest Austin, Southwest Cedar Park and Southwest Leander area.

Our corner of Central Texas plays a critical role in local, state, and national elections. In 2018, the work of Far Northwest Democrats helped lay the foundation to turn Texas blue. And we’re just getting started. Visit Far Northwest Democrats to learn more.

Girls Who Code

Girls Who Code is a nonprofit organization dedicated to closing the gender gap in technology by empowering young women and girls to explore computer science. Through free after-school clubs, summer programs, and college-level opportunities, Girls Who Code builds technical skills alongside sisterhood and community. Since 2012, the organization has reached over 580,000 girls across the U.S. and internationally, creating a pipeline of confident, code-literate women ready to shape the future of tech. Our high school chapter brings that mission to our local community, offering hands-on coding projects, mentorship, and a supportive space where girls can grow as both technologists and leaders. Whether you're a total beginner or already love coding, there's a place for you here. To explore opportunities for yourself or the young women in your life, visit girlswhocode.com.

After protesters shut down drag story hour at the public library in 2019, Leander PRIDE banded together to tirelessly work toward building acceptance and community in Leander for queer neighbors. Forged by the call to save a beloved local drag brunch that lost it’s venue, they have fostered visibility and inclusion by serving the Central Texas community with our LGBTQIA+ volunteer network since 2021. They continue to host and participate in numerous events throughout the Leander area. Visit Leander Pride for more information.

Leander + Cedar Park PRIDE

Leander Democrats Together is a coalition of Democrats in the Leander area led by Precinct Chairs of the Travis and Williamson County Democratic Parties. Our vision is to sustain a community where all people can work, play, learn, and live to their full potential. We do this by collaborating to elect Democrats up and down the ballot, including those in nonpartisan races who share our Democratic values.

A special focus is on the nonpartisan Leander City Council members and the Leander Independent School District Board of Trustees. These local leaders have a significant impact on residents’ daily lives and can aid or impede achieving our vision. Since Leander and Leander ISD straddle both Williamson and Travis Counties, working together we can make a difference. Visit Leander Democrats Together to learn more.

New Hope Resistance is a grassroots protest group that started in Leander and has spread to include Cedar Park, Liberty Hill and more. All those from the Williamson County area are welcome. We began as two friends/neighbors looking for a protest event closer to home. We hosted our first event in October 2025 to coincide with No Kings 2. Since then, we’ve hosted local events inspired by national calls to action by Women’s March, Citizens’ Impeachment, Indivisible, 50501, Singing Resistance and more. We are committed to nonviolent, peaceful protest. New Hope Resistance welcomes those who fight for Democracy, the Constitution, free and fair elections, racial justice, LGBTQ+ rights, abolishing ICE, impeachment of DJT, workers over billionaires, healthcare and more.

Williamson County Young Democrats

The Williamson County Young Democrats is a place for young people who want to make a difference but aren’t sure where to start. They amplify young candidates and organize their members for political action that is affordable and sustainable for young people with busy lives.

Politics can feel intimidating, especially if you’ve never done it before. Williamson has also been historically red, so lots of young Dems feel like a blue dot in a red sea. Their goal is to break down both those barriers.

They make political action accessible and affordable. Ages range from 13-40. They believe real change comes from people showing up to do more than just vote. We campaign, clerk elections, protest and connect with local leaders. Join us at: https://www.instagram.com/wilcoyoungdems/?hl=en
